Here's how we get students excited about reading and writing:

  • Broad-based humanities approach

Our program integrates history and social studies readings with creative prose, poetry, and dramatic writing. From these materials, students are able to make connections between academic/research-based and creative writing.
  • Thought provoking reading selections and class discussions

In the reading program, students will read 2-3 full-length novels (average reading load is 150 pages per week) which complement writing topics. Many of these novels are Newbery award winners, and all have been recommended for grade-level use by the American Library Association.
  • Small classes with expert instructors

Highly personalized feedback and guidance from the instructor, because the teacher is more focused on your child's individual achievement. This also allows us to work more intensively on the editing and revision process, so that students will complete polished drafts of each work.
