The Horizons Group, including Horizons Learning Center and New Horizons Test Preparation, was founded in 2006.  We are young, energetic, and passionate educators committed to expert instruction and personalized interaction with each of our students.

Full-Time Instructor: SAT/Test Preparation

• Teaching content includes ALL sections of the SAT. Ability to teach other tests, including SSAT, AP English, or any other AP Exam (Economics, Comp Sci, Chemistry, etc) is highly desirable.
• F/T - 40 hours/week (max 25 teaching hours).
• Office in Hongqiao, with travel to Jinqiao and throughout Shanghai as needed (travel time is considered work time and is included in the 40 hours).
   

Part-Time Instructor: SAT and AP Test Preparation (all subjects)

• For SAT and SSAT, you would teach ALL sections of the tests.
• Ability to teach other tests, including AP English, or any other AP Exam (Economics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, etc) is highly desirable.
   

Full-Time Instructor: High School English (inc AP/IB level)

• Teaching semester-long reading, writing, and enrichment courses courses designed for Upper Years (Gr. 8-9), Pre-AP/IB (Gr. 9-10) and AP/IB (Gr. 11/12) level, native or near native English-speaking students.
• Working closely with parents and students in tutorials and customized small group programs.
• Curriculum development – helping us add to our high-school level programs with new courses. 

Part-Time Instructor: High School English

• Teaching semester-long reading, writing, and enrichment courses courses designed for Upper Years (Gr. 8-9), Pre-AP/IB (Gr. 9-10) and AP/IB (Gr. 11/12) level, native or near native English-speaking students. As a part-time instructor, you would only need to teach the ages and courses types you are most comfortable with.
• Working closely with parents and students in tutorials and customized small group programs.

Part-Time Instructor: Middle School English

• Teaching semester-long reading, writing, and enrichment courses designed for Middle Years (Gr. 6-7) and Upper Years (Gr. 8-9) native or near native English-speaking students.
• Teaching SSAT and similar standardized tests designed for middle-school aged students
• Working closely with parents and students in tutorials and customized small group programs.

Ideal candidates will:

• Be a native English speakerfrom the US or Canada
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher
• For test preparation, you must have scored in the top 5% on the standardized test  you are applying to teach. (we test all candidates before final offer of employment)
• For language instruction, you must have two years teaching experience, preferably at an international school or at a public or private school in the US.  
• For all positions, we require a good sense of humor, a personable style, and a polished (or polish-able) presence for meeting parents
